Jacky 'Jake' Bellamy is an American newspaper reporter. She was initially sent to France to interview pilots from various RAF units, including Hornet Squadron, at the suggestion of Hugh Dowding, C-in-C of Fighter Command.[1] Following the withdrawal from France, she regulary visits Hornet Squadron, while attached to a team from the Air Ministry, who were searching for shot down enemy aircraft.
She does not appear in the LWT miniseries based on the novel.
